HK Shared Path: Feasibility Study for a Cycling Network
HK Shared Path is a program developed by the Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) in collaboration with the Harbourfront Commission. The program aims to develop a network of approximately 12 kilometers of cycle tracks along the harbourfront areas between Sheung Wan to Shai Kei Wan of the northern shore of Hong Kong Island.
To assess the feasibility of a continuous shared path in the promenade of the northern shore of Hong Kong Island, the CEDD has launched a 12-month Shared Path Implementation Project. This project allows the public to experience the promenade with the Shared Path and provides valuable data for the design, management, and promotion of cycling activities in the area.
The goal of the project is to gather feedback from the public and assess the behavior of adding cycling activities to the existing promenade. The collected data will serve as a reference for the future implementation of Shared Path on promenades along the northern shore of Hong Kong Island.
HK Shared Path is an Android application available for free. It falls under the Lifestyle category and is developed by the Civil Engineering and Development Department.
